iChild Website Rebuild
iChild approached us to redevelop their website with the goal of improving usability, promoting their content, and improving their visibility to search engines.
Our in-house SEO expertise ensured that the new website was developed to be as search-engine friendly as possible, in order to facilitate search engine spiders indexing the website and adding it to their results pages. In addition, we identified the search terms users most commonly used to find the website, and ensured that these were optimised. iChild are now able to implement any further SEO strategy through the Content Management System (CMS) we created, where they can edit the page titles, H1 & H2 tags, meta descriptions and keywords.
The 865 iChild activities were put into a database; filterable by multiple tags (features) defined in the CMS. These tags are also used to dynamically display related ‘you might also like’ activities on the individual activity download pages, and to allow iChild to create homepages for featured activity types, themes, educational subjects and events.
The homepage, age homepages and offers pages of the website are built of blocks of content which can be shared across multiple pages, streamlining any content updates undertaken by the web editor. The text and images within these blocks can be linked to separate pages which can be created by iChild as and when they are required, with user defined urls.
The sponsorship and online advertising module of the CMS allows iChild to manage their advertising contacts, specifying a maximum number of impressions purchased by an advertiser, so that the banners are automatically excluded from the site when the contact is fulfilled. The site also allows for a tag or activity to be sponsored by an advertiser.
The CMS includes a reporting system for activity views and downloads statistics. Here iChild are also able to segment and download their user database for upload to their broadcast solution to enable targeted email marketing campaigns.
